Since 2001, the Chesapeake Public Library has experienced significant budget
cuts while use of the library has soared. Without the generous support of individual,
corporate and foundation donors, critical programs and services would have to be
trimmed or dismantled.
An Important Mission
Working to insure that these essential community programs aren’t eliminated is
The Chesapeake Public Library Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
that seeks contributions to help support the library’s important collection of books
and materials and to increase learning opportunities for the City’s growing
Novel Nights ~ A Novel Idea
Novel Nights, is a Literary Festival and the Library Foundation’s major fundraiser.
The event is attended by prominent citizens, influential business leaders and political
dignitaries, among others.
Novel Nights 2012 features New York Times Bestselling author, Jeff Shaara (Gods and Generals)
Guests enjoy gourmet hors d’oeuvres, fine beverages, live music and an upscale silent auction.
